Embarrassment. It turns your face red. It makes your cheeks hot. It can make you want to crawl under a rock and die...sometimes. Say, if your pants fall down in a play, you get embarrassed. To you, it is the end of the world. To the audience watching, it is hilarious. I hardly ever get embarrassed; I'm just not shy, and I could care less what people thought of me. But, once in a blue moon, my cheeks turn red.
It was a Friday; not an unusual Friday, just like the others. My friend (practically sister) Cassidy, invited me to her Teachers VS. Students game. Durant Road Middle School had a special "raffle night" and everybody who came to the game got a chance at the coupon raffle.
Bzzzz, the half time buzzer went off and the students were up by 15 points. Out came a tall man with a microphone.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for our raffle winner. Give me a drumroll please...."
"Olivia TIT...ka?"
The crowd looked around, rather confused. Who would have such an awkward last name like TITka? I was in a daze as if it was a dream. Cassidy tapped me on the shoulder to go to the court. As I scurried toward the stairs, I tripped down them and had already made a fool of myself.
"Last chance, Olivia TITka, to claim your prize."
Was being embarrassed really worth winning 5 Subway coupons? I made my way to the tall man and stood center court. Girls and boys laughed at me and I told the man it was pronounced TEEka and he managed the correction. I returned to my seat with my million dollar prize and with my embarrassment of course.
You have to rememer that life would be boring without embarrassment. I would have nothing to tell stories about or laugh at if these things did not happen. Embarrassment only lasts a short while, but the laughter continues forever.
My life as Olivia (:

Everything is funny...with a monkey!

This picture wasn't the least bit funny, but when you add in the monkey, BINGO; you've got something hilarious. Monkeys are all funny, but I found this monkey special. He can sit on my surfboard and stare!

Short Dialogue that Illustrates Repartee
Will Ferrel: You have a big nose.
Adam Sandler: At least I don't have an afro!
Will Ferrel: I was basically a professional on Blades of Glory; not on the side of a football field as a waterboy!
Adam Sandler: I can sure swing a golf club better than you can. You can call me Happy Gilmore.
Will Ferrel: More like Billy Madison. I finished school when I was 18.
